Was there at pump #1 at 4:15 in the morning on 6/19/2026 was almost completely stopped to make the turn into the truck stop to get into the fuel lane and had a drug addict open my front passenger door get inside my truck and rob me of $200 and the bible that was on my dash my mom used to own before she passed away I tried to get the security guard’s attention inside and they were more concerned with their phone then Doing their job. I had to be the one to force the thief to get out of my truck. So I’ll never go back to your truck stop and I filed a police report too with the Gary pd so they’re aware. But atleast the cops will have video of him unless this ta magically doesn’t have video of it . So much for the truck stop being safe for drivers. We’re supposed to be safe when we go to a truck stop not get robbed by a drug addict.

I had one of the worst service experiences of my life at TA Truck Service. I checked in Saturday night for what should have been a simple issue—a leaking trailer hub cap—and didn’t get out until Monday at 10 PM. What should have been a quick fix turned into a complete nightmare. The technician not only failed to fix the problem, but actually made things worse by damaging the axle threads. Then I was told I suddenly needed a full replacement—new hub, disc, and brakes—without any clear explanation. When I asked why, no one could give me a straight answer. To make matters worse, they kept my truck for nearly 72 hours in 80-degree weather without letting me drop my trailer. I was stuck sitting there with the truck off in the heat and humidity, and it literally made me sick. They kept promising parts would arrive Monday morning, but that never happened. In the end, I had to go out and get the parts myself from a dealer because they kept giving me the runaround. The employee named Randy, who claimed to be the manager, was extremely rude and unprofessional. He tried to pressure me into replacing brake pads on the other side that were working perfectly fine, claiming it was “policy,” w

Best part is how big the parking lot is, I have never been there and not found a spot to park in. I like that there are pool tables and music playing upstairs in drivers lounge. There is a separate TV lounge area, 10 small shower rooms, 2 separate areas upstairs to do laundry. A Barber upstairs. I was disappointed in the company that provides the coin operated pool tables, in one table there were no pool balls. In both tables there were no Q balls. So if you spend a dollar to shoot pool, you would need to use a regular pool ball to pretend its the Q ball. Then 1 player is short a ball. Also, its best to get quarters from the cashier downstairs, not from the quarter machine. It did not give any quarters after accepting the dollar bill. Downstairs is a Taco Bell and Pizza Hut as well. There is a mechanic shop and Verizon dealer. There is reserved parking and free parking. There was no wait for a shower, around noonish on a Friday. Staff were nice and helpful. Not a terrible experience, just okay. Always great to find parking in the evenings 😁

Been here few times now. Everytime this is in my route I stop because I know I’ll have easy parking , showers clean , food options , and chill staff.

Security patrols the lot at night. Although fully stocked, there seems to be a shortage in assistance in the store. The shower attendants were very friendly. The showers and laundry room were very clean. This travel center offers Verizon service, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and even has a Pride Truck sales dealer in the building. The driver lounge seating was comfortable, but they offer massage chairs. If you like you can play a game of pool.
